Seeing the endless multitudes of classic cars that cruise Woodward every August is always a fun occasion. Even if we locals sometimes complain about the traffic! Its a small price to pay for the classics that the world would absolutely love to have parading down their main drag.
So ,we’re wondering; all you road warrior and warriorettes, what was your first car?
Classics were always lined up at AJ’s Music Café just off Woodward on 9 Mile in Ferndale where the Dream Cruise was born.
Chief Bean at Detroit Bold, AJ’s first car was a 1973 purple AMC (American Motors) Sprortabout station wagon which, at the time was definatley not a classic. He wishes he held on to it. It would’ve been today!
Aj’s was purple with homemade shag carpeted box speakers belting out Royal Oak’s own Glen Frey and the Eagles greatest hits
Whatever you cruised in , Woodward was the place to be! While Detroit Bold’s number one selling coffee is our delicious homage to the road called Woodward Ave, we’re sure the great taste somehow takes a backseat to the memories, then and now of crusin Woodward!
our #1 selling coffee is, naturally 100% Arabica Woodward Ave. in single serve, fresh ground or whole bean
Please share your story of Woodward or your favorite first car memory. We’d love to hear it. We’ll pick a few random winners and send some Detroit Bold Woodward Ave to the lucky winners!
